Role Overview

As the Product Manager at AFG, your role requires you to have a keen eye for gaps in consumer product offerings and the innovative mindset to fill them. You’re a highly skilled market analyst with a proven ability to strategize the full lifecycle of product production – from conception through release. You may already be a confident leader who has experience guiding cross-functional teams in the successful creation of products that improve consumer experience and grow market share.

Your responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for products, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements development, and product launch
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams
  • Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI
  • Analyze market data to develop sales strategies, and define product objectives for effective marketing communications plans
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, marketing, and sales teams on the development, QA, and release of products and balance of resources to ensure success for the entire organization
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates AFG and its features across primary market segments

We are looking for a strong and dynamic Mission Executive to join the AFG team. Mission Executives are in charge of the end-to-end process of executing projects (“missions“) in AFG. This role is at the heart of the value-creation strategy of the Firm and requires strong multi-tasking, communication and project management skills. As the Mission Executive, you supervise missions from the inception of a proposal all the way to the conclusion and rolling-off of the team. You work closely with the COO of AFG as well as the respective partners and principals who are in charge of specific missions.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Joining proposal development teams for sufficient context
  • Supporting the staffing process
  • Building pricing proposals
  • Following up on submitted proposals

Project Launch 

  • Leading the contracting of clients and consultants
  • Supervising the mission kick-off process
  • Setting up the systems and tools for team launch
  • Ensuring the timely billing of clients
  • Following up on revenue collection

Project Supervision 

  • Signing off consultant invoices and expense payments
  • Monitoring the mission budget
  • Participating in calls from time to time to check on progress
  • Liaising with mission partner and/or principal to check quality delivery
  • Amending contracts in case of scope/time changes
  • Recommending consultant penalties and bonus

Project Closure 

  • Supervising the upload of final documents upon mission closure
  • Ensuring completion of performance and closing surveys
    • Organizing farewell calls
    • Following up on revenue collection
    • Collecting client feedback and checking for follow-on work

    Job Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a relevant field
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate technical information to non-technical people
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, continuing to deliver quality service and consistently meet deadlines
    • Strong, persuasive communications style both verbal and written

We are looking for a strong and dynamic Mission Lead to join our network of freelance management consultants.

As a Mission Lead with AFG, you are a leader that plays a pivotal role in ensuring success in our client work. You will take charge of breaking down the most complex and toughest problems of our clients – and present insights and recommendations that convince our clients to take action. In doing this, you will lead the day-to-day execution of projects (missions) while guiding, coaching, and developing a mission team of 3 – 5 management consultants. Your superior analytical, creative problem-solving, quantitative and conceptual thinking skills, and strong interpersonal and communication skills will ensure successful client projects and team performance with impactful and sustainable results. In some cases, you will be asked to travel to support the client in an on-ground capacity.

Do you qualify?

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university
  • At least 4 – 5 years of business management or consulting experience in a reputed company
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate technical information to non-technical people
  • Solid functional knowledge in various modules of business, including but not limited to strategy, business development, manufacturing, supply chain, product development, project management, marketing, sales, etc.
  • Significant expertise in industries, including but not limited to financial services, health care, renewables, education, retail, logistics, etc.

You will be presented with the opportunity to work with other seasoned management consultants from across the world as well as subject matter key experts on our client engagements; gathering, analyzing information, and developing recommendations – and have the chance to present your results and recommendations to client management. In some cases, you will be asked to travel to support the client in an on-ground capacity.
